I took the SPHR exam in December 2013 (and passed) and bought this practice test a week before my exam. Compared to the actual SPHR test, this practice test was probably more along what you would find on the PHR. Many of the test questions on the actual SPHR were not similar to the questions on this practice test. I would certainly not rely on this practice test to give you a good indicator of the questions you will encounter on the actual SPHR. What this practice test is good for is testing your knowledge of concepts and terms, which will help you generally on either test. For good practice tests for the SPHR, there are many practice tests with the SHRM Learning System, or you can go to the HRCI website and pay $45 for an abbreviated test. I paid for one of these tests and felt it was much more in line with what I encountered on the actual SPHR exam. For the price though, this is a good purchase to test your knowledge of terms and concepts.Product details

Will be a great resource once I take my certification test for HR.
Used it to study for the 2014/15 HRCI test and I passed. I give it 4 stars because most of the material is very similar and it's a good check to make sure you know all the topics of study. However, don't expect the test questions to be like what you find in this book. They are too easy in this book. Also tons of spelling mistakes.

When I first got this book, I thought the questions were too simple and was worried they would not be helpful in prepping for the PHR exam. However, the wording of the questions and the type of questions were exactly like the exam. A few of the questions are repetitive but it is definitely helpful. I used this and the Anne Bogardus PHR/SPHR Professional in Human Resources Certification Study Guide and passed!
Good questions, most of them will have some variation appear on the test itself. The best way is to study your normal way and then try to answer these questions without checking the answers at all. Treat it like the actual test. Once you finish and look at what you got wrong, try to figure out why you did and review the areas you got wrong again. Great for prep.
This book contains 225 practice test questions for the PHR and SPHR exam. It contains questions from all 6 body of knowledge. It provides a list of answers but also provides a brief explanation for each answer. While the practice test is good, the questions are easy. They are not in the detailed question format that the exam uses. This is great if you are needing to study the general terms and need a brush-up on the major basics. I think it could be used to study some of the most common terms. Get this book if you need to brush up on the most common information. Don't use it as an idea of the test questions. The questions on the test are not this easy.
